The big race of the summer at Summit R/C Raceway in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, is coming up fast! The 3rd Annual Indiana Outdoor Electric Offroad Championships will be held on Saturday, August 27. The entry form for this race is now available for printing in PDF format by clicking this link
http://home.comcast.net/~scottaheat...lectric2005.pdf (http://home.comcast.net/~scottaheath/pdf/IndianaOutdoorElectric2005.pdf)
or by visiting our website at www.summitrcraceway.com (http://www.summitrcraceway.com/).
Pre-entries are being taken now, and as you will see on the race flyer, a free Summit R/C Raceway T-shirt will be given to each racer that submits their entry before August 22nd.
Last year's race included everyone from the local weekly racers to the current ROAR offroad national champion. This year's field promises to be even larger. If you like 4WD, we hope to have a large and diverse field of 4 wheel mod drivers. So far this season in just our weekly races, we have had 6 different models of 4 wheel buggies take the track at one time or another.
Check it out, and make your plans to be in Ft. Wayne, IN for what is fast becoming northern Indiana's annual classic! See you there!

Sheath, is that going to be the latout for the state race?
What tires are working there? 4wd and truck

Hopefully it will be better than the indoor champs in Indy.

3 of us went and I have to say that it was sad. I expected alot more people - or the sport is just dying in Indiana.

Might see if there is going to be a good turn out coming out.

The sport is not dying out but no one wants to be inside on a nice day, wait till it gets cold again to play indoors....

The basic layout of the track is not scheduled to change, but some of the jumps will be reworked a little before the big race. I ran my 4 wheeler with holeshots all around, and it was pretty good. I didn't try anything else though. Some guys in 2 wheel mod were running good with BK Bars at the end of the day. I might give them a shot on the rear of the 4 wheeler to see what happens. In truck, I'm not sure. I didn't really pay attention to what tires were being run. Ifmar pins were the choice on the previous layout.

Truck tires being used are red directionals and red ifmar pins. The track has alot of traction. The layout is very fun,and we will tweak it a little a week before the big race. The cross-over jump is big air.

Just wonderring if you will be taking entries the day of the race, and if a late fee would be added? At this point I am planning on attending. Thanks.

Eric,
Entries will be taken on the day of the race up to 1 hour before start time. There is no late fee, but racers entering before Aug. 22nd will get a free T-shirt. So I guess your late fee would be no T-shirt. Hope to see you there!

I will try and have a T-shirt to display at the raceway soon. They will be ash gray with Summit's logo on front and a off - road vehicle on the back. Contrary to rumors there will be NO Wally bobble head dolls given away!
