Well I just ordered a .50 scale fuselage from Century Helicopters today. To be honest I have never flown anything in my life. In reality I would really like a nice scale Airwolf. And I did not order the pre-painted, inaccurate paintjob, version. Actually I'm planning on working on the fuse over the next year or so, in the meanwhile learning on a simulator (RealFlight seems to be the favorite) and then pod and boom. Any advice from you guys would be great.

I started with a helli.....
I got it to fly across the parking lot without crashing without any training.
NEVER DO WHAT I DID.
I was scared SH^tless the whole time. Not a good idea to fly a helli with shaking hands.
lesson learned:
Helli's are very VERY dangerous. The blades spin over 200mph and can cause serious ingury and even death. Nothing happened to me, but it very well could have.
It doesnt matter what you fly first really. Just make sure you have some one who knows what their doing with you. Helli isnt anything like airplanes. You might as well compair A Semmi Tractor trailor. The only thing they have in common is they go in the air and hurt alot when they hit you. Although you can get an RC tractor trailor to fly if you throw it real hard.

That is better than ANY simulator. you can develop bad habits without realizing it, then you join a field and freak everyone out and not because you left your fly open either! A suggestion if your going to learn on your own with a simulator, use 2 fingers on the sticks dont learn with your thumbs!!!!!! you will have more stable control that way. I say this cuz I taught myself an then sought out a teacher and had to re- learn everything!!!! i have been flying planes for 20+ years and it didnt help one lick when it came to flying my heli's except how to hold the radio!!!!!LOL:dude: Good luck!

Watch at the field who is the guy more often getting asked to help-It' not just the flying but the setup of the heli and your radio gear. I'd get out there and observe before bringing it out. Like the planes most everyone will get off the ground sucessfully. Some of the guys have bets going when a full scale pilot shows up bragging and doesn't want help. All to often the hardware supplied with many kits is pretty lame-Jeff
