Can you slam a 62 Savoy with the Gasser Chassis or do you have to have the Regular Savoy Chassis?

Thanks, :dude:

Well, you can slam a gasser chassis, I have done it a few times. Its just not as easy as a regular chassis. If you had a regular one I would suggest using it. If not, try out the slamming of the gasser chassis. Only thing is, you have to remove the ladder bars to get it low, and then the oil pan is real deep, so you cant go too low there either. What I would do to get mine down real low is sink the chassis under the car more, kinda hard to explain, and its just kinda try it and see what happens, you have to just go step by step and think how it will work. Another problem may be the front axle setup, some cars are not wide enough to use that setup, so you might have to make your own axle to the right length. Personally, I think slamming a gasser is a pain....just takes more time to do it. But for the most part, its the same concept as slamming a regular chassis. GOOD LUCK! If you do it, post some pics so we can see it.

Here is a few pics of a couple gasser cars I slammed. I took pics of the underneath so you can see how the chassis is sunk under the car a bit. The plymouth savoy is only sunk in the front to give it clearance on the oil pan, but the dart is sunk way if front and back . You can do this by cutting down the metal posts where the screws go in, or drill out the chassis holes so it slips over the posts, then create a flat peice with a hole to hold the base on if you know what I mean, you will see if you try it. A little extra trimming might be nessasary to get the base to sink in, just have to try it. Hope this helps, good luck.

Thanks, Goober
Looks like a pain in the Butt to slam a gasser.
I just have a Flat Black Savoy laying around that I was going to chop up and see what it looks like.
Goob, Which Muscle Machines engine do you like the best?
Me, I like the Dual Quad one the best.
What Ya Think?
Thanks

You know, its a toss up for me on the motors....I love the dual quad setup, but you know, the red tipped injection is soo cool too. I would have to say I like both the same on them. The 3-butterfly "bugcatcher" blower (like the one on my savoy in the pic) is just the worst motor though I can say! I dont care for that one at all.....unfortunatly, its on quite a few cars you buy though. Sucks.
