don't know if this is old news or not, but just saw, at T.R.U. yesterday...
new 5 car box set "5th Gear", but instead of the imports, had 5 of the Big Time Muscles in new colors... and not lined up as if driving on a road, but side by side

tryin to remember the cars, I know there is the 69 Camaro in the middle, the 67 Nova, Cuda, Charger and the 67 Mustang...pretty sure on those... my fav, the Camaro, in one set (they had 2 different) was white with blue(?) stripes

Man, I was just at TRU and didn;t even look at the Jada BTM's. It was a Thomas the Train trip with my 2 year old. :)

I saw those 2 sets at TRU yesterday. :)

The pic is frm the one in Novi, accross from 12 Oaks mall....
but I have stopped at the one in Livonia, also have checked the one by Telegraph and 12 mile rd.... sometimes I even check the one in Ann Arbor.. I'm a feild service tech and on the road all day....
I rarely ever get to be at any when they open...I actually have a job... but I have stopped in like- middle of the afternoon at different ones and actually found some things....

actually it's about 20 minutes west of Detroit... if you flew in thru Detroit-Metro airport, that's actually in a city called Romulus...Westland is North of that

... and there is basically no place with-in the city limits of Deetroit to find any kind of die-cast...no dept. stores... you might find the stray Hobby shop, or the 3 Hot Wheels hanging at a Drug or Grocery store, but that's about it...

just wondering if this is the case in other states big cities... they tried a Super K-mart with-in the city, only lasted a couple years then gone... that was even before all the K-marts started closing

Yep! I remember seeing the Romulus signs. What gives with the interstates around there? Seems like those roads are in the same condition as the last war zone I was in.

..just recently found the Dubs candy green '69 Camaro and yellow Ford GT40..

I finally picked up the green camaro as well. Got the vette with flames today. Been looking for that one. That box set looks cool. Wish they would hurry up and appear in AL. When they do, I'll pick up a set...or two!!!

Well, it's been over a month and I still haven't seen one of these sets anywhere.
Has everybody else been finding "boat loads" of these 5-packs?

Ive yet to see any.

They finally showed up at TRU this week. Half of the boxes were damaged, bent in the middle so the platform the cars sit on was bowed up. After looking them over, I concluded that I'm happy with the castings I already have from the blisters and decided to pass on these.

I saw them at our TRU and HAD to have them. They are awesome. I love the black Nova, green Mustang (although it doesnt have stripes or markings), the Camaro is hot & the red 'Cuda kicks it with no black or grafics. I might have to paint a rear stripe on the Charger though. All in all I love this set. I hope Jada does more! :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
