How often do you cut your comm, replace brushes, total rebuild etc.?

Well it depends on what brushes you run.... I usually cut the comm every run... i replace the brushes very seldom... Unless the brushes are burned or dis colored, you can re use them. i have some brushes with 40+ runs on them.. and they rip more every time i rebuild... it seems the more the brushes seat on the com the better they run... with running a standard brush, ie 767, or similar.. you should be able to get two to three runs on them.. brushes like the xxx, or F brush, you may be able to get a few more...... just keep an eye on the com,, get a comm stick and clean it up after the run... also see how the motor feels on the track, or if you can check amp draw do that.. as performance drops, usually amp draw lowwers as well.

Everyone will have a different opinion on this. Here is what I have liked when I ran brushed motors. Haven't in about 10 months now, though. I really like the Hurricane gold brushes. I found that the best performance would be on the 3-5th run after a rebuild. I have never liked the results of reusing the brushes. It depends on which brush you use though. So, anyway I would rebuild my motor completely with new brushes and then run my last practice pack. Then I would not rebuild anymore during the races and would spray out the motor and use a fiberglass comm stick between each run. This seemed to give the motor the highest performance in the 3rd quailifier and main.

I always had pretty good success doing it this way and only had to rebuild once per race day.
