when i pull the cord it starts right away and then dies right away. i took off the air filter sprayed carb generously with carb cleaner, put in new air filter and changed oil. the instruction book says the engine may have to much oil. can anyone help me oput here??

ok, one thing, if dribbling fuel down the carbs throat keeps it going, its a fuel problem, and as long as the oil is within the operating range, or just a smidge above the full line, its ok, just don't add a full quart of oil!!!

I've also seen on craftsman mowers the hole in the side of the main jet gets clogged up, can give you starting problems..
