I play around with electronics mostly in the winter. I got mainly interested in it back in the late 70s early 80s when I got an Associates Degree in Digital Electronics. That is also about the same time I got my first computer... an OSI C1P with a wopping 4K of RAM, Basic programming language and a tape drive for storing programs.

Now I like to play around with the Basic Stamp Microcontroller. It is a small 24 pin chip that includes a CPU, small bit of memory and I/O ports. It is programmed using a Basic like language.

Over the past few years I've made myself a programmable discharger using an old ESC and light bulbs, an RPM dyno, a 4-wheel scale and a bunch of unfinished odds and ends.

Maybe this winter I will sit myself down and make something from "off the shelf" parts that would be useful to RCers and could be fairly easily built by most anyone.

You can find out more about the Basic Stamp from their web site at http://www.parallax.com

Here again, I'm no expert, but if you have any questions or are even just curious about it, ask away and I'll see if I can help.

I too dabble in elec. I am interested in a low voltage interval timer.1-1/2v.in. 5 6 or7 seconds load on. Switch activated. Like the kind found in greeting cards or dollar store toys.Any input would be helpful.shawn atother hobbies.
