I'm new to the forums, but have been involved with R/C hobbies since the early 80's. I grew up building the Tamiya electric cars (the Wild Willy was my first one), and went through a LOT of others. After a 10 year break, I picked up a Megateck Merlin and taught myself (sorta) how to fly, and a friend talked me into buying a Duratrax Overdrive a few years ago.
Earlier this week, looking for something relaxing and new, I picked up my second boat, a Kyosho Fairwind 900. I've had it out on the lake once now, and the thing is a lot of fun! No gas tanks to refill, no batteries that need re-charging every few minutes, and it's as fun as any other vehicle I've owned. I'm going to join AMYA, although there aren't any clubs all that close to me. A friend has a Thunder Tiger Victoria, he's been helping me with some of the adjustments and mods I've been making to it.
