On Saturday, I was able to get to Downtown Disney and see RotS projected digitally at the AMC 24 there.

It was as spotless as you'd expect from the format, whereas I suspect the film prints being shown today have probably picked up plenty of scratches since the movie was released.

There was one definite visual difference from the film version I noticed -- during the final battle between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader, the little gizmos the two ride have visible energy shields, which were undoubtedly intended to show how they were able to get so close to the lava without bursting into flame. The shields are visible earlier in the movie as well, for all the platforms we see on Mustafar.

No doubt we'll all see these shields on the DVD version.

I saw them in the theater on the regular print...unless you're talking about a specific shot where they might have goofed but fixed it in the digital print?

Well, I must be crazy. I've always suspected as much ... Oh well. I didn't notice them before and speculated they might have been present. No idea why I never saw them.

Caught up in the excitement of a lightsaber fight on an explosive lava planet with some John Williams music in the background maybe?

Caught up in the excitement of a lightsaber fight on an explosive lava planet with some John Williams music in the background maybe? Now that you mention it ... did the battle between Sidious and Yoda heavily feature "Duel of the Fates," or was it still variations on the "Battle of the Heroes" theme? Can't quite remember ...

Yeah, especially when they started throwing the senate platforms. Kinda grew to a crescendo at that point.

One thing I did notice this time that I never did before (and it may be because of the digital format) was that the makeup on some of the actors was visible. Samuel L. Jackson was the one I really noticed in that regard, but I probably wouldn't have seen it at all if it weren't the third viewing for me.
