View Full Version : Sci Fi Metropolis 1/6 STAR TREK figures?!?

...stumbled across these at Action Figure Times. How the HELL did Sci Fi Metropolis get the rights to do these? The costumes and body proportions look a little weird, I hope because they're prototypes, but this is both a dream come true and a financial disaster. Now I'm going to have to pay $75 a pop to collect a line of 12" Trek figures! And after seeing the company's line of Lost in Space figures I can guess that SFM might be the first to finally make an action figure of my beloved Ted Cassidy as Ruk! Oh the pain...the pain...

They had those on display at WonderFest. When I asked about them, they said that they had developed the prototypes for their marketing sales pitch, only to find out that the vendor had selected another company.

...of course. I thought Art Asylum had this license at the moment anyway; I know Sideshow pursued it too. I love AA's but I really want some good 12-inch Trek figures...

Yikes... I'd hope that if they ever get the license, they pursue some material with scale texture as those shirts look like bathtowels that were cut to fit...
