Well, he's got the build for it...

And his head is already just a skull with no visible muscles in it... ;)

He's the Italian version of Homer Simpson--with his head on fire.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot, what the heck is "Ghost Rider"?? I've heard about it in reference but nothing that would give me an idea of what it was/is. But I still haven't found what I'm looking for in a Google search.

In addition to what others have contributed, here's the background information on Ghost Rider

He was originally created by Marvel Comics in the mid/late '70s, in an attempt to cash in on the brief motorcycle fad inspired by the 'chopper' movement and the likes of Evel Kneivel. Once the fad died, Ghost Rider went the way of disco and disappeared.

He was revived in the early '90s with an updated motorcycle and new bad attitude. At the time, indestructible vigilante killers were very fashionable [this is also around the time Wolverine and Punisher type characters saw huge increases in popularity]. Ghost Rider was very hot when he initially was revived, but I'm afraid I don't have much info after that. I stopped collecting once Marvel went public and started flooding the market with crap.

I have to admit, I was a bit surprised at first when they announced this movie. After further reflection, however, I think it could be right for the times we are living in. It's my hypothesis that the early '90s fascination with vigilantes is the same as the '70s... the population at large drowning in corrupt and unaccountable 'public servants'. Given the current sorry state of our once great nation, maybe more vigilantes are what we need.

Here's to hoping they make a movie that's not raw fecal matter...

Actually Marvel introduced Ghost Rider in the 60s as a western character. It's been 40 years since I read them and don't remember the backstory of the character. He was dressed entirely in white from head to toe with a full face mask, white horse, some kind of lasso or something charged with some kind of energy and he glowed in the dark. If I remember correctly he had died once and was really some kind of ghost.

Sorry, I was just puzzled why he wouldn't show up on a Google search, so had to go and do one myself. :) My puzzlement mainly stemmed from how you can get hits on almost everything ever even heard about, let alone that's existed for around 30 years. There's all kinds of stuff out there about all kinds of obscure Marvel and DC Comics characters, but not Ghost Rider? Inconceivable! :D

Yeah, I'm pretty adept at finding stuff on Google (don't tell my boss) but I didn't on Ghost Rider. Don't ask me how or why, it just happened. Maybe the IT guys here figured out that's my secret weapon and shut me out.

Thanks to all who provided the links and info. Now I can follow the thread a little better. :)
