I have been having trouble with my rider.
The engine dies everytime I put it in gear and/or everytime the blades are engaged.
So I tried to clean the carbs[hopefully I did it right], flushed the gas tank, changed the gas filter, and the plugs...although the air filter which I haven't changed yet is extremely dirty.

Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

well, the air filter, unless clogged really bad may affect it, though did you set the screws right? or its a switch somewhere thats killing it.

You said it dies when you engage the blades??You have an electrical problem.
Onf of the safty switches is bad. Most has 4,under the seat-on the clutch/brake pedle-on the gear shift-But I'd guess it's the one on the blade engaugement lever. These can be "jumped-out" but you didn't hear that from me.
The manufactors would would not be pleased with me ,to say the lest.

Thank you all for your input.
I put in a new air filter and "giggled" the safety switch under the seat...it worked flawlessly and was able to cut my front yard.
But as I was returning the rider to the garage the engine stopped again!
I do not know what else to do...I guess i'll just have to call a pro.
I have a 12.5hp Murray 40" 2002.

that safety switch sounds like its your problem, really all a pro will do is just remove the switch. which should fix it up.
