All the higher Mah batteries have been doing is adding runtime. But no voltage. 3300's are putting out better average voltage than 3600, and 3700's right now. And 3700's aren't legal yet.

Thanks,

The new GP 3700s are putting out more voltage than the 33s. The IB 3800s are also putting out more with lower IR. The biggest advantage that the new cells with longer runtime have is that the voltage stay up longer. Since you only use about 240 secs of the runtime the curve stays up.

from my perspective (A racer and a Race Director/promoter)

The 3300's are better "today" because they are a proven power source that is legal.

They are durable
They are affordable
They are available
They are proven (I know I said that above)
They provide plenty of power for ALL racing classes, and usually have left over run time.

As with anything that changes with technology, a NEW battery may become obsolete before it ever gets marketed. (NiCad 2400's were pretty much obsolete when 3000 nimh batteries came out, but soon the 3000's were overshadowed by 3300's. If 6 months could have been waited before legalizing the 3000's a lot of people could have saved a lot of money NOT waisting it on 3000's.)

Now with that in mind, 3600's are outdone by 3700's, 3700's by 3800's and if we DON'T legalize any of these before January...we might just have a 4100 by then that is by far better. Until then...the 3300's are still going strong and are GREAT little batteries.
