View Full Version : Gold Chrome Cars
Omega 06-17-2005, 02:50 PM What can I use to remove the gold chrome from the car? I have an extra one that I would like to try something different with.
Thanks
Dave
WesJY 06-17-2005, 04:24 PM I would use "Easy Off Oven Cleaner" to remove chrome, paint, old decals. I use a big plastic zip lock bag and spray the easy off inside then drop the bodies in there for a day or so then use toothbrush to brush off the paint. I am sure there are guys on this hobbytalk that uses different ways.

Nope, not that I've ever found yet ;)
joez870 06-18-2005, 10:28 AM ELO....(easy-lift-off) Plastics safe and can be found at train (hobby) shops. It is only a lil stinky and washes off clean!

I don't put it in a bag I just immerse it overnight to 24 hours then brush it with a tooth brush. Works great.
Somone here told me about it about 2 years ago.
Omega 06-20-2005, 08:49 AM Thanks you all for ideas. I think I will try the windex first. I would like to just remove the chrome but leave the painted details.
