TX Street Racer 06-16-2005, 07:47 PM WOW!!!!! That's a beauty!!!!!
I know you probably loved you Road Runner....... but damn dude, that's one CLEAN looking Elky!!!
Give us the lowdown on it....miles,engine,HP, any cool history, etc.
car guy 06-16-2005, 07:51 PM Much better. I just found out a freind of mine just got a '72 El Camino w/ new motor & air for $2,400.00, he STOLE it from the guy. Wish I still had my '67 w/ built 350, 11:1, Holley 750 carb, posi rear. That was a NICE vehicle.
roadrner 06-16-2005, 08:37 PM Nothing fancy, stock Chevy. Miles 120K, 305 V8, a two owner from Georgia. All in all, pretty good shape. That is a repaint of the original scheme. I'm doing some interior cosmetic upgrades (just clean up some age and stains), not really needed but I want to. Seat covers, head liner. Went all over the running parts to make her road safe (to my mind) for today's highway (shocks, brakes, some brake lines, tie rods...) . Went over the engine and replaced a couple of seals, all hoses and belts, vaccum lines and a carb (thank God I have a son that's a mechanic). Wanted to be able to drive it as far as I wanted without worrying about getting back. It's there. Added a set of Flowmasters on her. Sounds sweet although she doesn't have the power of that MOPAR she'll run the highways fine and I love that pickup when you kick her in the *** . Had an 85 just like it, needed to get this. Damn, I can't handle anymore mid-life crisises. :) rr
noddaz 06-16-2005, 09:24 PM Looks good!
Are you going to change your name to ElCameanr?
Captain Fred 06-17-2005, 12:31 AM Nice! I always wanted an El Camino or its cousin the Caballero. I like certain years of Rancheros too.
ParkRNDL 06-17-2005, 12:53 AM hey ya know, Majorette did a diecast of an El Camino from around that year... the only thing is I think they did it with the Monte Carlo SS style nose. I'm pretty sure my kid has one in his big box 'o' cars...
Sweet ride, by the way.
