I am almost ashamed to ask this question, almost but then again I have little shame.. I have collected quite a few pics of the 1978 Wolf W1 formula one car as I wanted to do a custom of it.. I recently aquired some new shots and the car looks Royal blue in it. I thought the car was black Can anyone with some authority tell me what color this car really was? Thanks in advance

Hi Coach! - Not an authority, but the entry list for the Watkins Glen GP 1978 shows Jody Schecter in Wolf #20, and Bobby Rahal in Wolf #21. Entry colors for both cars are black & gold.
Rahal was 12th, and Schecter finished 3rd.
I've seen a few pics where there does appear to be a real dark blue tinge, but that may be looking through exhaust haze, or the car photo picking up a little sky tint.
