I think 11 would be late enough. If you're not hooked up by then a couple of more hours won't matter much.IMO.

Jimmy,
We stock all of the most common parts at the track... tires, tape, axles, front end parts, springs, tplates, bodies, bumpers, traction compound. If theres something else you need let us know and we can bring it up for you, we live only about 30 mins from the track. Hope you can make it up we would love to have you.

Dave,
I think it might also be better to start at 10 or 11 and run only 1 qualfier on sunday so everyone can get home at a reasonable time. I have talked to a few other people who thought the same thing. Just a thought.

we should all talk about it on sat. before we start to race. And settle on a time so that way they can get the info on the web site

maybe this should be discussed on the saturday of the race when all are present as to who it effects

Is the first quailifers on saturday one of those time trials as to place you in your heat?

If so then i really like the idea of 2 quailiers on sunday

pmsimkins
06-24-2005, 06:59 PM
I don't believe so Pat, but I could be wrong. No one has brought that up this year.

I'm fine with starting earlier on Sunday, but I like the idea of running the two qualifiers that day. The more times I get on the track for my buck the happier I am. Plus the way the outdoor season has been going I'll probably demolish my car in two of the heats and have tire problems in 2 other heats, so the 5th qual might be important for me! :)

Mike,

Did Jason sell his CW?

burbs
06-27-2005, 12:20 AM
Pat yes it is gone..... traded it in a conversion style for a maverick the same way...

if your looking for a CW he has two more.. one new in box, and one run on carpet a few times...

I'll be there tuesday night for more track time. and I'll be there nice and early saturday morning

06-27-2005, 12:48 PM
Wow Jason bought 3 CW cars!

Yeah I was thinking about getting one, but I think I'm going to wait and save the money right now.

The Maverick guys should be paying you for all the promo you give them!

I'll be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I'll be running my KSG in brushless and my Dad's HD in stock. Assuming I can get his fast enough to run near the front. That may take a bit of work though.

Thought I 'd ask this question.

What are some things I should know about running 19trn for the first time?
I don't want to destroy some ones elses ride because of something I may miss

Mike,

I was referring to my Dad's car as possibly taking some work to get up front. I was just thinking about a CW to run a second class when there is time. I haven't had too much trouble running up front with my KSG for the last year and a half or so.

To be honest I would not entertain the thought of a Maverick, because it is simply way too expensive, in my opinion. Also, why get a Maverick when I haven't seen one run as fast as my KSG has?

Hock,
Tires are the most important thing in 19 turn, keeping tack in the tires, and making sure you do the same thing to them every run. I would also recommend the HD Protoform Monte Carlo. It was much more driver friendly when I switched from the Mcallister Intrepid to the Proto Monte. With the MC I could miss the line low into turn 1 and 3 and it wouldn't push up to the wall. The big buds wing is the wing corey and I have been running and seems to make a little more downforce then the big thunderwing. If u have any other questions motor, chassis lmk, I'll be there Tues. and so will Corey. good luck

I think we discussed the cost thing elsewhere. Basically the Maverick is 100.00 more than many of the other conversions out there. Why pay an extra 100 dollars to not run any faster? What I want is a second car so if I buy the Maverick I will end spending 400 easily to get a complete car. That's just too much for me.

I'm by no means a huge CW fan. Was just thinking if I could get a brand new or nearly new one for 50 or 75 off, maybe I would. Also, that car has run very fast on carpet which is more what I was thinking about.

Any of the cars out now can run fast. With some work I know I could run decent with any of them so it makes no difference to me what I drive. What I like about my KSG is there aren't 2 million extra unnecessary adjustments so the car is a bit easier to get dialed in. On the asphalt I think the HD may have a bit more potential, but I still like my KSG.

Hock..Hays pretty much hit the nail on the head. If you need help don't be afaid to ask. We will help as much as we can. I'm still on the fence between the HD Monte Carlo and the McAllister Intrepid. I think they are both good bodies. Each has their own pros and cons.

I have been running the Protoform Intrepid MD. I just use the small built in spoiler. Last week after finally investing in some new tires I thought the body was pretty good. 25 race days is apparently the limit on tires lol.

Gave 19 turn a try last night. All I can say is WOW  is that fast! The Team 1 19 turn motor I thought was very fast and really pulled out of the turn. But the motor is not everything :freak: Clearly the chassis was not as close to hooked up also I the driver CLEARLY need more experience with a 19 turn motor in that car. I must say I plan on staying in the 19turn class BUT not this weekend ( for the reasons above ). I don't want a repeat of the 1996 Nationals where I ran in a class I was not ready for. I thought LD was going to kill me. From that moment on I swore I'd not run a class in a special event if I could not be competitive. I'm not going to ruin another persons weekend because I pick the wrong weekend to "try something"

So this weekend is stock for me but after that I will be a 19 turn guy. :hat:

Hock,

My suggestion would be to practice with the 19T in the car this weekend, but race stock. Practicing with the 19T can really help you see what the car is doing wrong. It can be very hard in stock because the car is so slow it always feels pretty good.

Also, if you want to get more wheel time to improve your set-up and driving you should run BL with us. Lots more time to focus on the important things.

Not everyone thinks building a motor is time consuming... trust me it doesnt take away from someones setup.. ughh i wish people would quit saying that...
