It looks very similar to a hand full of cars I have, made by Tootsietoy. I've got a Toronado, Mustang, Cheeta, and a Dragster. The last one resembles a hot rod, but there's nothing other than Tootsietoy & USA on the bottom.
Neat Trans Am by the way. I like these older cars.

dang, I just saw one of those for the first time last week at the local estate auction... is there a raised outline of the screaming chicken on the hood?

did a quick search and found this...

Scroll down, and just below the black box hotwheels is a picture with 6 cars, very bottom one, according to site, is a Yellow Tootsietoy... which looks very much like your black one.
