I wonder how they are gonna fit such a long work into 2 1/2 hours??? Or do ya think they'll split it up?

The original plan was for the movie to be split into two films. However, once Chris Columbus left the fold, WB decided to reduce the story to fit into the regular 2.5 hour timeframe.

THATS A SHAME. I can see how doing that particular story as 2 parts would have made sense. I think it's the BEST of the HP Storys. Of course that could change after I read the NEXT BOOK. it's due out July 19... not that I'm counting...

Just guessing, but I expect Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to be essentially part one of the last book in the series. Just hope we don't have to wait forever for the second part.

There were always seven books scheduled for the Harry Potter story. 1 book for each of his years at Hogwarts.

H.P. and the Half Blood Prince is book six, so yes there will be one more book.

J.K. Rowling has stated emphatically that there will not be more than seven books written by her. However, she has hinted that there may be more H.P. stories written after his years at Hogwarts by other authors.

I know -- I meant I think it's reasonably likely that the upcoming book will end something like Back to the Future Part II and directly set up the last book.

Well that is always possible, since Goblet of Fire ended by setting up the events in Order of the Phoenix.

However, we do know that J.K. Rowling has stated that ALL of the H.P. books will start and end with him back in the Muggle world with Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia and Dudely.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too -- but I can see ways it would be easy enough to do both at once.

I hope we learn there's more to his aunt, uncle and cousin than we've seen previously. They were just so cartoonish and there has been little exception to that.

rowling has hinted that aunt petunia knows more than she is letting on, and that some of that may be revealed....
j.k.r. is very good at dropping tantalizing hints without spoilers, while dispelling spurious rumors. she seems to enjoy playfully teasing the fans with hints, but does it in such a way as to add to the fun.
