What a drag. I knew she'd been sick, but I didn't expect the end to come so soon.

Just watched "The Elephant Man" the other night, which I consider one of the best films of the 80's. As always, the "Romeo & Juliet" scene between Bancroft and John Hurt had me on the verge of tears.

I haven't watched "The Graduate" in years. Guess now's a good time.

Very sorry to hear this. Besides being a great actress, she and Brooks appeared to have a rock-solid marriage and partnership.

She'll be missed for The Graduate and The Miracle Worker, if nothing else. She was even good in the awful GI Jane, a movie I and several Panama City ex-Navy divers were actually hired to swim in before production moved to South Florida.

She was loved more than she would ever know...

Oooh, maaaannn...

I think my favorite role that she did was as "Amanda" in the American version of "La Femme Nikita" - "Point of No Return". You really felt that her character had been in Maggie's shoes at one point. One of my favorite lines is where she teaches Bridget "Maggie" Fonda to cover her feelings with the comment "I never did mind about the little things."

Gonna miss that lady. She brought class to whatever production she was a part of. :(

I really liked her in The Hindenburg, with George C. Scott.
