I have an old B&S horizontal model 8B that starts great when it's cold and runs well, but won't start again once it's hot. Carb/fuel/compression seem fine, but it will only pop and sputter ocassionally until it cools. Then it's OK again. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Mark.

have the coil checked out, that or find a good one somewhere or ask a friend for to use their coil. and then try it, it could be getting ready to start failing under heat. had one do the same, start, run great, get to operating temp.... pop and sputter, soon it started to rev up and down slightly. then would start to cut off.
