I'm a bit confused by the initial story.

As noted in Steve244's post, this submarine in Panama is hardly a new discovery. I have watched the TV special about it (a couple of times) by the men who explored it and surveyed it. Great story.

Maybe I missed something but I can't figure out the Times UK "June 6, 2005" dateline about a previous discovery and a very well-documented wreck.

Well, the tie-in with 20K Leagues (I used to think it was "20,000 Leaks Under the Sea" when I was a kid. Made more sense to me then and now) is new.

Otherwise I'd say Colonel Blashford-Snell is a bit full of himself and the Times isn't doing much in the way of fact checking.
