Leon Askin, the Austrian actor who portrayed the hilariously overbearing General Burkhalter on Hogan's Heroes, died Friday, June 3rd, in his birthplace of Vienna at the age of 97.
Yet another one gone. :( He will be sorely missed.
That only leaves three of the original cast members still surviving: Robert Clary (LeBeau), Ivan Dixon (Kinchloe), and Richard Dawson (Newkirk).

Now this is very strange, 'cause I just got the Hogan's Heroes boxed set, and just watched the first one last night.

I had a very similar thing happen a few weeks ago. I found a copy of Return to the Batcave on May 17th (which was just released that day) and watched it that evening. I laughed when Frank Gorshin told Adam West and Burt Ward toward the end that once they had been disposed of, there would just be himself and Julie Newmar left to receive the fan affection from the TV show.
Frank Gorshin died that evening.
It was very strange to see the posting the next morning about his having passed away about the same time that I, and probably many other folks, were watching that show.

And I noticed him in Young Frankenstein just last night!
Does this mean if I watch Big Daddy, The Waterboy, Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore that mt prayers will be answered?
