Still thinking about adding a 1/32 set. One day, maybe. ;) rr

I am thinking of it too...Having very few racers in my area, I have gotten more into customs and landscaping and 1/32 just offers so much more freedom..Will always be a ho guy for sure.. but maybe in the new house a extra couple of sheets could be a tad bigger scale....hehehe.....

I just added a 1/32 to my stable on Tuesday, May 31st. It's the Artin 4 Lane system with the Saleens, Lola and Lamborghini. It was SOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it. I'm telling ya, if you are curious about getting into it, hop on board with that set. Cheap, HUGE amount of track and the 4 lil beater cars are quite fun.

I had 2 Carrera GTO's that were sitting on my shelf with my 1/18 diescast and I finally lost it and needed to see em run. Up against the Artins, ya, they destroy them in speed, cornering and detail. But I was glad my kids were using the Artins. LOL.

From the box it's 20 feet for 4 lanes in an elongated figure 8. But we set it up after as a 40 foot 2 lane and it was insane. I don;t have the room in my house to keep it set up, so we have our HO for perma layout and the 1/32 for rainy days.

I really suggest picking one up. Or the Artin 2 Lane setup. even cheaper.

So it really looks like Iīm not the only one here enjoying all scales of slot cars...!?

After a frustrating attempt to get back into larger scale slotracing with a huge load of Artin 1:43 stuff about 6 years ago I bought some cartronic "the club" sets on fleapay (cartronicīs somewhere in between Carrera and Artin 1:32 track, quality- as well as moneywise) built up a little stable of all kinds of 1:32 cars (Scalextric, Ninco, Fly / GB track, Carrera, Proslot, PinkCar, reprotec etc.).

Then 3 years ago I couldnīt resist when a local warehouse had these Artin 4-lane sets on sale for only 89 EUR (that was the cars alone well worth).

Besides the junk Artin controllers (no brakes, miserable ergonomic design and 3 out of 4 controllers were dead after only a week of mild use) Artin 1:32 isnīt that bad (we all have enough better controllers at home...).

My main problem with the Artin 4-lane setup is the deep groove between the track pieces (and there arenīt enough borders for a 2-laner included in that set). As I prefer non-magnet racing each time (i.e. often!) a car is sliding over that groove itīs just tipping over. Iīve heard of U-shaped plastic strips (white...) that fit into that groove and should be a good replacement for the Artin track connectors but I didnīt find them her in Germany yet.

If I ever manage to get my basement cleaned Iīll definitely build a permanent little 1:32 track (probably with my cartronic track). In the meantime the large tracks are both a great thing for rainy weekends when I build a "family setup" on our livingroom floor.

But my Bonsai racers will always be my favorites!!!

BTW: Does anybody know if the Artin track rails are stainless steel??? Now that summerīs here I canīt stop of thinking about a temporary open-air layout with a bridge over the little little pond, back to the terrace and around the barbecue place...

Ahh, isnīt it just great to be a child (with grey hair...)!

Greetings from Germany,

Claus

Yes, that U shaped stuff is from Plastruct. THere's a pretty good article on using the stuff at home racing world.

I'll be using it for sure as I fell victim a few times when I was sliding on the rail near the groove and hit one of the connectors. I took the magnets out of my cars. hehe.

1/32 scale is a total BLAST to race! I dabbled in 1/32 scale late last year.....and I ended up buying nearly 10 1/32 cars......as well as a Scalextric Trans Am series set (with the Penske/Sunoco Camaro-Parnelli Jones Mustang)

I've also done a couple of custom 1/32 slots....that are literally tire shredders....one has a 37K RPM motor.....and yet another has a 49K RPM motor! These cars make some serious power....and are a blast to drive.

I love HO....but I highly encourage anyone who's into slots to pick up a nice Scalextric boxed set......for the quality of the cars, track, and controllers you will be pleased.

I just purchased my first 1/32 car. It is a Carrera Subaru Impreza WRC Rally car. I am a big fan of WRC rallys and you can't find the cars in HO. I see that pretty much all of the 1/32 mfgs have rally cars. I don't have any 1/32 track yet so I suppose I will try to pick some up soon. I hope I can find room to set it up along with my HO tracks.

I always wondered what an Artin 1/32 set would be like. Anti-Cop how smooth is it and will the track stand up to set ups and take downs. Does it have that annoying click clack that the older sets used to have?
I know Carrera isn't user friendly for up and down assemblies.
What Voltage do the Artin cars run on? 12 or 14V?

Hey Kenoshaki - didn't I buy a couple Eldon slots from you recently? Blue chrome 69 Camaro and a red chrome Mustang?

It's very smooth track. Just like Carrera. It's very hard and can take a lot of abuse IMO. I haven't had any problems with it yet at all and I have 3 kids banging on it along with myself. The click clacking isn't really all that noticable to me. My HO set buries it in the click clacking. heh. The stock power is 12V. I'm sure the Artin cars could handle 14V.

I've begun racing without magnets and I love the way the cars fishtail on this track. For the amount of track you get in the 4 lane set, I don't think you can beat it on price. I did have a controller go out on me, but I got a replacement for $5 new, so I was quite happy.

It's very simple to set up and take down. I've been using it as a 2 lane set and making 37' - 40' layouts. Tons of borders available for it and the R3 curves they have out are awesome. I bought 12 of those and they are great.
