I don't have the response I got from Panther (makers of the Pythons) right here in front of me but if I remember correctly all you had to do is cut down the bead on the tire a little bit (I assume narrow it up?) or the bead area on the wheel so the tire bead will fit flat into the bead area on the wheel.

Why not just use the Pro-Line BowTies for the 40 series rims? Since they are made for it....

The advantage of using the Python or Response tires is that you can use the stock rims so that you keep the truck's original wheelbase.

I put a set of pythons on a set of 40 series wabash rims ... and I cut out the inner ( utility blade and then dremeled ) ring on the rim so the tire sits flat instead of cutting the tire I wanted more of the ruber of tire to be glued and it worked perfect ... great tires and rims I like the pythons because they are slightly taller than the bowties and the wabash brought my track width 1 inch closer for quicker steering
