Glitcher - there will be a caravan from Medina and all over Ohio hopefully coming over to participate.

Hits home for me since my mother and grandfather passed from cancer. It is a vicious damn disease of which I wish on no one!

Will there be grub and what not at the track?

Also - any decent hotels around and numbers?

Should be a good fun time and for a good cause.

Thanks and see you all at the races!

mc - there is usually someone selling dogs, burgers, etc. at the track. They haven't confirmed for yet for this year, but I imagine they will be there again. If not, we order from a local pizza place. There is also pop, chips, candy available in the hobby shop. there is also a convenience store about a 1/2 mile away that has food service.

The closest motel is the Clairion. It's about a 15 minute drive to the track, located right off Rt.28...

Clarion Hotel New Kensington
300 Tarentum Bridge Road
New Kensington, PA 15068-4692
USA

There are also a few places in Harmarville which is a few exits down 28. About a 20 minute drive.

There are a few of us from Maryland wanting to come, my man wants to know about camping in the area.

My dad has cancer, so this is one I don't want to miss. If I can't make the race I will contribute somehow.

Pat -

you can camp out at the track (a lot of guys do), unfortunately there aren't any shower facilities... just an outhouse and I doubt you'd want to bathe in there. :) So if you plan on camping at the track, bring lots of baby wipes! I'll check into local camp grounds and see what's close.

Please bring as many racers as you can and spread the word! It's for a great cause and it's an absolutely amazing weekend. Just watching the mod buggy A main with all of the factory guys last year was worth the price of the entry.

I saw Al pitch a tent at the track once. When he drove his new TTR for the first time. :dude:

This is going to be a great race. I plan on running stock truck, was wondering if there is going to be a 4WD class. I am sure there will be, just wondering. When can we sign up? Man, Aug. is a long way a way....

There was a 4wd class last year. We haven't had much of one for club races this season, but guys most likely will be willing to dust them off for the big race. Entry forms will be available on the McCulloughs website in another month or so. I will post it here when they are available....

Hey Guys,
What tires are hooking up there? I need info for truck and 4WD. Also, when do you think the entry forms will be ready? Man I can't wait, this will be my last off-road race for the year before I head back to carpet to get ready for the Indoor Champs.

See you all in Sept!

Jerry - tires sort of depend on how the track feels like acting on that particular day :)
It's usually a good idea to have some red taper pins or M3 evil twins if the track grooves. If it's dusty then holeshots or X's work (on trucks - holeshots, king pins and T2000s). If the racing should go into the evening and the track starts holding moisture, then pink compound tires work well.

fronts -For 4wd red blockheads maybe some taper pins. For truck red directionals, maybe have a set of silvers if it grooves.

I know that sounds like alot, but the track can change a bit depending on weather, etc. The hobby shop on site should have most tires for sale.

Sponsorships, etc. are being finalized right now. We need to get that stuff done to know which logos to include on the race flyers. Sorry about the delay, but they should be done in a few weeks. I'll post a link as soon as it is available.

What time will practice be on that Friday?

aljones
07-25-2005, 10:36 AM
track will be open all day Friday... I believe practice starts around 10am. Doug usually turns the lights on in the evening for people that arrive late on friday.

Also, the track crew is getting more dirt to build one of the biggest, baddest layouts ever at McCulloughs.

aljones,
You think the Proline Endless Summer Classic race will affect the pro attendance? Its running the same weekend in Cali.

aljones
08-08-2005, 09:39 PM
That may keep a few of the west coast guys home this year, but alot of the factory guys from the east and midwest are still trying to make the trip to McCulloughs that weekend. Round 4 of the RC Pro Series North is the same weekend, so a lot of the nitro guys won't be able to make it that weekend either. There will still be a very good turnout regardless of what pros show up.

RcDinge - yes... 3 rounds of qulaifying on Saturday means lots of tracktime. The mains will be on Sunday so if you're running nitro you can always try to bump up. Keep in mind all the money goes to fight cancer, so even if you can't be there both days your entry fee will go to a good cause. Plus, we will have seperate raffles on both days so lots of prizes to go around. Bring some extra cash for tickets!

Jerry - I'll ask Gary the race chairman to get a list together. Thanks for signing up early! Glad that team short bus will be in the house :)

I haven't seen the new layout either... been working too many weekends lately to make it out to the track, but from what I hear it is off the hook. Some big air and a few cool elevation changes.

The raffle prizes are rolling in too... racers are going to win some awesome stuff, so be sure to bring a few extra bucks for the tickets!!!

Gas powered trucks, gas powered monster trucks and modified trucks and buggies can clear it. Stock trucks and buggies almost make it but come up just a little short.
