View Full Version : Favorite chassis
Mike(^RacerX^) 05-25-2005, 11:02 AM It's been kind of slow here.
I have been wondering for awhile now,of all of the cars you folks run, what would be your two favorite chassis of them all???????I'm curious to see what others out there are into.
For me,it would be the tjet pancake motors, and the BSRT G3's.Both are at the extreme ends of the spectrum, and I enjoy both equally.
I like some of the others in between(like the original G Plus cars),but those two are the ones that I stickl with.

joez870 05-25-2005, 11:27 AM I am quite partial to the tjet, Tyco pro and pro2 :) An afx with decent magnets is always a favorite too.
Afx magnatractions. Tjets/TO's a close second and third.
coach61 05-25-2005, 12:11 PM Original Gplus.. still my favorite for runners Tyco because parts are cheap so you can drive the heck out of them and who really cares...lol.. Tjets.. well If I ever bought one that I didn't have to spend 2-3 hours fixing to get it run I might get excited. No Wait.. If its got a pin in it.. I like it.. lol...

okracer 05-25-2005, 12:46 PM im a xtractions magnatraction kinda guy i like um with a little mags but i still like um slideing out
Anti-Cop 05-25-2005, 01:05 PM First would be Xtractions because I have a lot of them, but I have gotten a few NOS AFX M/T's and love them very much.
My son is a 440X2 nut, but I like the M/T's the best. I'm sure I'd like Tjets more if my controlers weren't like an on/off switch for em.
AfxToo 05-25-2005, 01:08 PM Pancake power cars: Original AFX (pre-magnatraction)
Set type magnet cars: Tyco 440X2
Aftermarket magnet cars: Patriot Storm
... followed by everything else, which I like nearly as much.
clausheupel 05-25-2005, 01:15 PM ...but I also like T-Jets. And then T-Jets. Besides those T-Jets I like T-Jets best.
:jest:
I really enjoy (almost) all kinds of HO cars (but I enjoy and do best racing T-Jets...). Different cars with different advantages and requiring different techniques (regarding hop-up as well as driving).
Hmm, never really thought about a sequence of cars I like best - but itīs probably the following:
T-Jets (who would have thought? )
Aurora AFX
JL X-tractions
JL Tuffy Clones (and of course original Aurora Tuff Ones)
Tyco HP-2
Tyco Pro
Faller AMS
LifeLike / Rokar (all chassis)
Tomy turbo
Tyco HP-7
Tomy SG+
Aurora G-plus
Tyco X-2
Carrera 160
O.K. - back to the track! :p

rodstrguy 05-25-2005, 02:15 PM I agree with Claus and Scott... Pancakes anyone...? T-Jets Mag and Non-mags are all good, then the Parma 1/32 womps for bigger fun.
blackroc 05-25-2005, 02:38 PM Personally, I'm really partial to the original g-plus cars probably because when I was young these things seemed insanely fast.
Since my eight yr old twin girls are into this now, we really enjoy the SRT's since they're a little more forgiving. Cool thing is we're talking about setting up a series point system to crown king of the hill for the day. Doing races starting with JL Xtractions, then G-Plus, Tyco 440's, SRT's then Super G-plus.
It's really neat seeing them appreciate the differences in the different cars and developing their own personal preferences. They've picked it up so quickly too.
Man... what a great hobby huh? Who knows, might end up having a pair of Danica's one day.
Gear Head 05-25-2005, 03:06 PM pancakes for me...with lots of that red syrup :dude:
micyou03 05-25-2005, 03:27 PM JL Tuff Ones and JL X-tractions.
Until a couple of years ago Aurora Tuffones and AFX Magnatractions were my favorites. Since the JLs came out I like them much better they seem to have more punch and are very predictable. I am finding much consistancy from on chassis to another, except for the few real dogs.
hefer 05-25-2005, 10:23 PM Anything with a pancake motor and Tyco 440. I think the fact you have to work on some to make them better is just like tuning in a real race car. It would be boring, if they all ran the same. Working on them is half the fun.
all show, no go...hefer
DACSIGNS 05-25-2005, 11:34 PM Long time since I had time to post but I also like Magnetraction and X-Traction cars best. Even the specialtys. Reliable, responsive to modifications, body scale is "truer" to me and they are just plain fun to race.
Have a goodn fellow slotheads and "morons" (they know who they are) HAHA

sethndaddy 05-26-2005, 12:36 AM tjet and magnatraction, both original and johnny lightning, Oh, and tyco us-1 electric trucking.
roadrner 05-26-2005, 07:53 AM Nothing but pancakes. With or without traction magnets. ;) rr
ParkRNDL 05-26-2005, 02:23 PM Flapjacks for me, in any flavor... Tjet, AFX, or MT. Far distant second are Tyco 440s, but mostly because they show up most frequently at yard sales and such. I actually think HP2s are a more interesting diversion than 440s, but the little buggers are getting tough to find and they're kinda weird to work on...

mtyoder 05-27-2005, 04:43 PM The tjet based chassis (jlto, tuffone, tjet) are my favorite by far. They are my slowest cars and also my fastest cars. I guess my second favorite would be the Tyco 440x2 pan and slimline. I've worked with and raced those for so long it's like repetitive stress disorder.
