I have a trip planned in two weeks that will have me overnight in the Williamsburg, Va. area. (We rented a house in Corolla, N.C. on the beach) My question is, are there any stores/places I should checkout in the area. I'll be coming back a week later through Raleigh/Durham, N.C and will overnight in Chapel Hill at my inlaws. Again if there are any good slot car stores/hobby stores or places that I should checkout, please let me know.

Don't know about slots, but if you enjoy sand, you'll love Corolla. Check out the lighthouse while you're there and drive down through Nag's Head, some good places to eat up and down the strip. rr

We've been going there for about 5 years - We have three boys ( 3,6,13 ) to keep entertained, so between fishing, crabbing, and the beach we'll be pretty busy. I'm just looking for something to do with the kids for a few hours on the way there and on the way home.

You should contact Roger Corrie or Tom Bowman. They are both in the Tidewater VA area (Virginia Beach, Norfolk, etc.) and very active in the local and regional racing scene. For all you know there could be a big event taking place.

It's too bad I don't live in Chapel Hill anymore. I live about 80 miles west of there in Winston-Salem, NC. Your kids might enjoy running on my 27' by 5' HO road course and checking out my 2500+ HO slot car collection. If you'd like some pictures of my track e-mail me at Rawafx@msn.com
