ok, so i'm comparing apples to oranges here, but which do you guys think is more fun? right now i'm deciding between the 2. I like the E-maxx since i'm a traxxas fan and because it looks to be the most fun to drive around my backyard. i like the RC18T because it's ALOT cheaper (no need for high priced DUAL battery packs) and is a nice cute size. however, i saw a few videos online of the RC18T with some high-end hop ups and it honestly looked like the RC18T wasn't much fun to drive; it was so small, just a marbled sized pebble flipped it (granted, it was going 35+ mph). so basically which do you guys notice as more "fun?" for example, which do you guys see being sold or gotten rid of more often? if you have both models, which do you drive the most often? i'm not into hopping up either truck (at least in the near future) so hop-up potential is a non factor in my deciding b/w the 2 trucks.

Where to begin?.................I have had both (2 Emaxxes and 1 18T) still have the 18. I have raced and bashed around with both. The maxx is a fun truck no doubt. The 18T is a little missle. Both trucks are very impressive outta the box. Bought new on both accounts. Price difference is a big factor in buying new kits. The 18 is a true ready to run when bought so you must also factor in the cost of batts and a charger with the maxx (taking the total that much higher). Honestly I have had more fun with the 18 over the maxx just because you can truly run it anywhere and you are limited to the space needed to truly enjoy the maxx line of trucks. I know from a resale point of view the maxxes are all over the net up for sale from stock to fully loaded. The 18's are starting to show up for sale also, but I dont see as many of them as you do the maxx. I got into 18th scale racing last year and have had the most fun in my almost 20 years of racing experience. Yeah they can be a little harder to drive depending on the conditions you are running it in. The maxx is by no means a slouch. I raced with it a few times and had a blast, but the smaller scale seems to be alot more enjoyable to me. Honestly it really depends on where you plan on running it at. Durablitiy is really high on both models but I did break more parts on the maxx over the 18 but you also have to consider the weight difference of the 2. Each guy has his (or her) own opinion on the pros and cons of either. Associated has been around alot longer than traxxas so I would also consider that too. Try goin to a track and ask around most guys will let you take a lap or 2 to compare the difference in the 2 trucks. These are just my opinions on the 2, both are great trucks but big difference in price. Also check into parts availability for them. No fun getting a kit and breaking it days later and having to wait days to get a part that the other manufacturer might have in the LHS. Just some thoughts on the matter.................

I have a 18T (I don't have the E-Maxx to compare) As far as the breaking parts thing. I've had mine since they first came out and I only broke 1 stub axle!!!(That was ONLY because of stupid me dropping it!!!!).O the than that Haven't even cracked a part!!!!
I know u said u wouldn't get any Hop-ups but I HIGHLY recommend getting a Motor-Mount heatsink! it's only about $14.99 (American). I say this because the stock motor in mine over-heated and wouldn't run!!!!!! (Has anyone else had trouble with over heating???????)
Hope this helps, even a little.

I have a T-Maxx, Revo, 2.5 nitro 4-Tec, and last but not least a RC18T. I love them all but I think that the 18t is more racable, indoors or out. I just raced my 18t for the first time outside on sunday and I had a blast. I am thinking about selling my 2.5 T-maxx so that I can get a little more into my 18t or maybe even 12th scale. Time will tell! It is all fun no matter what choice you make...Good Luck
