How about this guys. What if Finemolds gets the rights to do Battlestar Galactica kits!! Considering the excellent work they are doing with their Star Wars line, Imagine what they could do with the Galactica!! Awesome possibilities!

I agree. Unfortunately, considering how long development of a new kit takes at Fine Molds, the show will be in it's 10th season before we see the first kit.

I'd buy a Viper, Raider and Galactica, assuming they were the real ones and larger than the Monogram kits

Glad to see that you're finally coming around about the New BSG series, Whedy! It is indeed more "real" tan the overly crappy 1970's show. :D

I realize you're poking fun, but to by clear, "real" is only the original, John Dykstra & company designs from 1978, worked on by those great guys who now run Area51 (FX company)

That would be awesome if Fine Molds picked up the Galactica license. Don't know how realistic that is though. I didn't think I'd like that show as much as I do. Everyones performance is top notch and they act like "real" people. As a modeler, it gives you even more incentive to build when you actually like the subject matter the kits came from.

Actually I meant kits from the "original BattlestarGalactica". Although kits of the new designs would be cool as well. I am one of those guys who like the original show better. Sorry I just can't get into the new show. But I don't knock those who do. To each his own,etc......

I'd love to see them do models from both shows - though Revell still has tooling for the original kits...

And thank you for taking that approach!

I can respect those who don't like the new BSG while giving those of us who do credit for liking it. Unfortunately, others have to belittle the new over and over and over and over.....

My only problem w/the original kits is that they weren't totally accurate. They were fun to build, tho, as memory serves. Well, the Galactica kit was a pain, but the others went together easily enough.

There's a member of these and other forums who is working on making a 1/2500 scale Galactica from the new series. He's using a laser to cut the pieces/parts so they're crisp & clean for casting. Only part that's bad is that we won't see it for a while. I don't mind waiting, tho, if it's highly accurate. Plus, at 1/2500 scale, it's going to be something like 26" long!

Yep, I'm looking forward to the 2500 scale BG.

Cobywan would be the member working on the Galactica and you should see it in person. It's a gem!

Yeah, I was kind of avoiding giving out his name since he can't realistically commit to a completion time and we know how folks like to hound someone once they get a name........

I'm with A Taylor. I'd love to see new kits from both the old and new series ... in the same scale, of course.

Well, a couple of new kits are out there now in various scales. I believe there's a 1/24 Mk II, original series Viper, original series Cylon Raider and a brand-spankin' new series Cylon Raider. They're all resin kits, but I just don't see one of the bigger model companies making injection kits for them or the larger ships, sadly....

Who's making a 1/24 viper?

This is the "new" Viper, but...
