I see Associated shock shafts listed in lengths of .56 - .71 - 1.02 - and 1.32, I measured the lengths of two shafts from different shocks from Assoc. and neither were of the above listed lengths. What does the mesurements actually mean if they are not the overall length? Are the measurements of the travel of the shaft? Want to order some new shafts (one is bent) but do not know what size to order from what I find listed. Thanks Ralf 13

Associated alao has .35 shafts for touring cars. That may be the length you're looking for. That's what is in the Intimidator GBX kit at least.

That is what doesn't make any sense. I have a new set of Assoc. TC shocks that I am trying to put on a used CW Sprint Car I bought and am rebuilding, the shafts that came in the package with the shocks are 1.60 inches long, not .35 inches. I find NO listing for any shock shafts that measure 1.60 inches, and all the other Assoc. shocks I have are longer than these. What does the lengths Assoc. lists corespond to? Evidently it is NOT the overall length of the shaft, it must represent travel or something besides overall length. I was looking for a slightly longer shaft but can't figure out what size to order. If anyone else knows please post. Goodwreck have you actually measured the length of the shock shafts that came with the GBX? Thanks Ralf 13

.35 shafts are 1.3515" long overall

.71 shafts are 1.6300" long overall

1.02 shafts are 1.9520" long overall

1.32 shafts are 2.2540" long overall

As far as what Associated numbers mean, who knows-it's Associated.

That's all I can tell you about the lengths as measured with a digital caliper.

Hope this helps a little.

NP-seems every car I own is either Associated or has their shocks on it. I started using HPI shocks on my pan car and new CW Intimidator GBX because they are much easier to get smooth action from. If you're interested, the part number for the HPI shocks is 72170. That's for 2 shocks with lite blue springs and lots of extra pieces. Local cost is $42.00.
