Have any of you guys heard of Marchon? It was in my parents garage and they said it was mine as a kid. Its got a police car and a porsche 930 slant nose in it. Just wondering. I dont remember hearing of this brand before. Dont look like an exspensive set or anything just old.

Marchon is pretty good stuff. Their newer cars are probably comparable with Tyco 440 as far as stock out-of-the-box racing, and I have a couple of old Firebirds that are set up kinda like Tyco HP7s. However, their track is not compatible with any other brand and they don't make the variety of track pieces that others do, especially Tomy... also, they were never widely available here, so I don't think anyone makes high-performance parts specifically for them, unless it's like tires and stuff that fits any brand. Not bad overall for a starter set, but as far as I know, kinda considered an oddball and not used much by serious hobbyists.

There are replacement parts for the MR-1 chassis like tires, shoes and springs. And since it is a can motor you can probably swap out for a hotter Tomy can motor offered through BSRT and a number of other distributors. Not sure about rear axle size but it's probably on the Tomy big end @ .062 d. Chassis is prone to splitting at the pin.
The bodies are the drawback as they are very thick and heavy. Big, tough, bulky cars but can be fun cars with a group of them. They're actually closer to 1/50 scale.
