I am already a member.... scott car guy 05-02-2005, 06:45 PM What exactly is this mailing list for? noddaz 05-02-2005, 09:53 PM What exactly is this mailing list for? The intent is to exchange slotcar info... And it comes right to your e-mail box. Take a look and sign up if you like. http://ho-slotcars.net/mailman/listinfo/ho-slotcars Scott AfxToo 05-03-2005, 12:16 PM That's a very good mailing list. Some of the more prominent names in the HO slot car hobby are known to participate on the list. If you ask a tough question you're likely to get a thoughtful and insightful answer. If you provide a bad answer you will probably be corrected - at least once. I like to use the mailing list to ask specific questions and know that someone else has probably encountered the same problem over the past 40 years and has an accurate answer. On the other hand, the email mailing list format doesn't lend itself well to "chatty" dialog that works fine in a BBS environment. Most people don't like getting 30 or 40 emails a day. If one of the many Diligent E-Bay Guardians spots something amiss in an auction expect to receive dozens of emails describing the infraction - in gory detail. All in all, that mailing list another one of those indispensible web resources that helps keep our HO slot car hobby alive and healthy. I'm glad to see it back up. Mike(^RacerX^) 05-03-2005, 12:45 PM Glad to have the original back. While that one was down,I subscribed to a few others to fill the void. I found it odd that of the 3 or four I was on,that they all got the same exact messages.I noticed that as well when the list we are talking about was still up.The same messages would appear on at least 3 groups. There must have been some uprisings that I missed out on that caused people to break off and start their own groups. Now that this one is back,I'll unsub from all of the others. Mike No uprisings, just Andy Meyer lost the use of the server he was with, but now has a new one. newbombturk 05-29-2005, 01:02 PM Andy's list is the original and still the best IMO. The others are immitators. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
