Hello all, I was mowing my lawn (1 acre) yesterday and new I was close to running out of gas. I turned off the mower, went to the gasstation and filled a clean jug, and filled the tank. I started the mower engaged the blades and mowed for 10 feet before the mower died and would not start.

I have taken off the aircleaner for inspection, it is clean. I pulled the plug and checked for spark (turned it over while holding the plug attached to the wire against the frame) it has GOOD spark. Also it should be noted that the plug was wet with fule from me trying to start the engine. I thought I flodded it so I walked away and came back 40 minutes later to the same results.

This is a Kohler 15.5 installed in a Husquavarna Rider 155 riding mower. The engine turns over freely it just never starts...

Any help would be appreciated.

well sometimes when mower's are of age, they get some trash in the gas, now i'm not certain if the tank has some sort of little pre filter in it, but it may have sucked up something into the carb, now, what i do sometimes when the plug is wet with gas is clean it with a good shot of carb cleaner, and put it back in to get it going right away.

i would try a new plug first thing , but most of the time when the plug fouls it will pop and crack , does it feel like it has compression ? does it sound like the starter is laboring ?
