Didn't that guy play Lori in Little Women? I like Gary Oldman!

Actually he played Laurie. Lori is a girl's name.

What I find remarkable is that just months before he filmed BATMAN, Christian Bale looked like this (http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hc&id=1800018597&cf=pg&photoid=547693&intl=us).

One thing that's always bothered me about Batman is why hasn't anyone noticed that this Billionaire is purchasing supercomputers, jet engines, and machine guns. Wouldn't that raise some red flags with someone? I sincerely doubt that Bruce Wayne would have the ability (let alone the time) to build everything from scratch.

For the first time - in this movie -those issues are addressed in as plausible a manner as is possible within the fictional Batman mythos.

Read an article by scriptwriter David Goyer. In "Batman Begins" the cape is made out of "memory fabric" (apparently the military is experimenting with some version of this) and stiffens when needed into what is essentially a self contained hang-glider. It's more obvious in this trailer than in previous ones but the "cape as glider" concept was also used in at least one scene in "Batman Returns".

Ooooooooooooooooo looking good but god the batmobile is ugly. Bring back the '66 version please, PLEASE. I just hope one thing: that they will stop changing the actor that's playing Batman. I'm tired of this actor swapping thing. I like them all (well maybe the last one a bit less, except of Silverstone in the batgirl outfit...). Can't wait to see it............

Ooooooooooooooooo looking good but god the batmobile is ugly. But you gotta admit that it would be intimidating if real. If you are a member of that superstitious and cowardly lot, now you've got to worry that Batman might just run you over -- he might not even bother with getting out to beat the crap out of you.

Cool!

I still like the Keatonmobile better, but I'm not going to nitpick...

I gotta agree with you Cat, the Keatonmobile is still the best! This new one is slowly growing on me, but it still looks like an armadillo at a tractor pull (thank you terryr!).

I suppose it's not such a stretch that this Batmobile would be such a departure from what we're used to seeing; so far, this film seems to be trying to set a new standard for Batman films--take the subject matter seriously and treat it as plausibly as possible. I have to admit, however, that the previous trailers did nothing to stimulate my curiosity about this film. When I saw the Super Bowl TV ad I thought, "Oh well, here we go again." But this latest trailer makes me think this director wants to stop "camping up" the Batman mythos and try to tell the story from a more realistic perspective.

A lot of rich folk have such hobbies as gun collecting (machine guns with class III licenses) and some even build spaceships. I don't have a problem with his buying supercomputers and jet engines. Seems perfectly plausible.

Jules Verne described the process through which the Nautilus was built by a small crew after individual sections and devices were contracted out all over the world by various companies who had no idea of what the whole contraption would be. Fictional, but plausible.

I can't wait to see this film. I'm really a fan of all comic books related films (even Hulk and Daredevil!!!!). As for the new Batmobile, what can we do about it. Ye it's kinda scary, like an ugly beast. But got to admit that in every Batman films or TV show, the Batmobile is something that makes us say ''Wow'' in our minds when we see it (well in my case). It's an attraction in every movie, the kinda moment that we wait for when we've got no idea how it will look like. Oh well, maybe this time is the end of this ''Wow'' moment....... Will see when I'll be watching the movie the 1st time. Since I'm collecting all the different versions, if at the end of the movie I want to built for my collection then it's because I got this ''Wow'' moment ........

You can tell by the tiny details that this film WILL be better then the others. They explain EVERYTHING in a realistic world. Just as we felt like Mutants can/DO exist b/c of the serious approach and care that was taken with the X-men and Spiderman movies... The same will be said for this Batman. Hopefully DC has learned that Marvel has been kicking their ASS when it comes to adaptations and there is now a set formula.
If you watch the NEW BmanBegins trailer y6ou will even see that the gauntlets that he wears are explainable... They are not just flappy decoration, they are an Asian defense tool, used for blocking swords... The introduction of the Freeman character is brilliant and who better to play that part. The humor WILL be there b/c Wayne is a sarcastic character but humor with good actors equals great chemistry... Banter is good if done right and I know it will be... As for the Batmobile, well I hated it a year ago... But i fits now, I already see it as part of the character so I'm fine with it...
Scarecrow doesn't look over the top at all which is good and I am sure the horse breathing fire is part of a "fear generated figment" done by Dr. Crane... And no comic book movie would be complete without a tight shirt nipple shot of our hero's girl... I'm sure Holmes' character will not disappoint... She was my pick for Mary Jane so it's good to see her used somewhere.

We'll see, this year is great for movie fans... Begins, Fantastic 4, Sith, Kong

The ten-minute preview that followed Samllville was SERIOUSLY impressive. That Tumbler that looks so ugly in still pics is not going to take any getting used to at all on the big screen, in action.

I agree....the first major preview I've seen was the 10-minute post-Smallville intro...and I was blown away.

Dang! Somebody told me about the Smallville preview and then I forgot about it. I've noticed a lot less negativity about this movie in just the last couple of weeks - it seems the nay-sayers are beginning to come around.

Yeah, I know, but I forgot to set up a tape before I left, and the wife hasn't yet learned how to program our new VCR. Oh well, I'll see it when the movie is out.
