If your racing, the only batteries that are legal are 3300's. If your just bashing or playing, I would reccomend the new IB3800's. You'll have a little more runtime with them.

Also what are you running the motor in and what is the gearing? This will make somewhat of a difference - gear to high and there goes the motor and you wonder why the shrink wrap on the cells is melted and burning - did that when I first strted racing back in the early 90's.
If for bashing you might even go with 3000's or 2400's if you want to save a little but I agree 3300's for racing and if you can get a good price on anything higher go for it.
Key - is to have fun.

The GP3300, GP3700 or IB3800 are all great cells. I'd stay away from the IB3600 cells.

What's the problem with the IB3600? Even though they aren't legal yet for racing I bought 2 packs (compared to the GP3300 they're cheaper, basically the same voltage, IR, slightly longer runtime) to try out and haven't noticed any problem, yet.

I haven't been able to get the same voltage as the GPs and they are not as durable (don't hold their numbers very long).
