View Full Version : capturing dvd soundtracks as mp3 files? razorwyre1 04-26-2005, 11:41 PM hi guys... anyone know an easy way to copy the soundtrack from a dvd as an mp3 file on a pc? Sword of Whedon 04-27-2005, 02:16 AM The easiest way is to use a program like TotalRecorder, or anything that will record the sound output of your PC (usually a "what you hear" setting) and just capping to a WAV file and then MP3ing it terryr 04-27-2005, 01:23 PM The quick way to record any sound is to loop the speaker output back to an input and record with a sound program. AFILMDUDE 04-27-2005, 03:37 PM Are you saying there's a way to strip the score off a DVD clean from the dialogue, effects and music tracks? portland182 04-30-2005, 06:11 PM Are you saying there's a way to strip the score off a DVD clean from the dialogue, effects and music tracks? Only if the DVD has an isolated score like say the Region 1 version of 'The Matrix'. The problem you can get with the isolated score is that it is mixed for use within the film. In other words the volume will dip for dialog and effects as that's the mix, even if you cant hear them on the isolated score. That's why soundtrack albums use a seperate mix from the movie, and often sound quite different to what you experiance in a theatre. They also tend to remove a lot of low frequency stuff that a domestic hifi wont physicaly cope with Plus most people cant run thier home hifi that loud without pissing off their neighbours. Jim f1steph 05-01-2005, 10:49 PM Yep it can be done, like the others are saying. What I do, I play the movie with Power DVD, and I record the song with Cool Edit 2K (nice program, I converted all my 33'' and 45'' in mp3 with that program. No more popcorn noise). It's that simple. Many other programs can do that. I think that Nero 6 has something like that. I liked so much the music title at the end of '' The Right Stuff'' that I converted it into a .MP3. Now while I'm driving my car, I can think I'm ''Gordo Cooper'' blasting his way throughout the sky...... Steph vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
