I just bought a Briggs Intek 5.5 and need to get it set up for use on a yard kart. I want to use the governor, but want to hook it up to remote throttle. Right now, the throttle lever on the side of the engine doesn't affect the position of the carb valve. I am assuming I need to adjust it under the gas tank or behind the casing, I haven't really looked at it much, since I want use a diff throttle setup anyway.
Would I just buy one of these kits(part number 692316 on this site)?- http://www.gokartsupply.com/thparts.htm

OK, quick update. The throttle lever DOES work, only when it's running though, when it's off the throttle is wide open. I hadn't started it yet. So that will simplify things alot. I see where I can hook up a spring and make it work.
I am still curious as to whether there is a "standard" way to do this though....
