What is the difference between the Megatech and Magnum? Im interested in this radio and would like to have the best one but not which is which.

MEGATECH and magnum are technically the same thing>>>BUT In AMERICA FUTUBA USA calles the radio the magnum>>> The ASIAN SPEC version is labeled as MEGATECH.... basically just a black case and cooler looking wheel>>>

Anyway if you buy a megatech one YOU CAN NOT get it serviced by Futaba USA....so when you want it repaired you have to send it back to HONG KONG or wherever you bought it from...

I heard the other day that the black one would be available in the US in a few months. But you how those "I heards" can be.

the black one is now availble if you get the Synthisized version. my friend got one and it was black and very cool

Its still called a magnum though...the black (US) one is the synthesized version..

thanks guys. I had no idea the difference. Looks like I will try and find a magnum. Not too fond of sending a radio over to the chiwangnese it might not make it back.

I got mine on Ebay for only 175.00 its very nice and offers pleanty of setup features......if your just starting out or a vet with this Futaba unit you wont go wrong......

Will the module from a 3PJ, FP-TJ-FM work in the 3PK transmitter, the 3PK appears to comes with FP-PK-FM modules?

Don't count on the module from the "j" to do the trick in the "k." They have different part numbers. If they were the same, they would have the same number. May work for now, don't count on later. BC
