Hello, new RC vehicles. Anyway, picked up a Radio Shack Agitator 4X4 truck at a yard sale so I could run over my daughter's RS porsha 911. The truck will only move forward and back when the remote control antenna is very close or touching the truck's antenna. I checked and resoldered the antenna connection just in case it was hanging on by one strand but still the same result.
Do I need to order a new board or is it repairable, maybe?

Sounds more like low batteries -- especially in the transmitter...

Thanks for the quick reply Tom,
Yes, I checked the voltage of the 9v battery in the transmitter and it was down to about 5 1/2 to 6volts. The electronics, I guess are pretty steadfast concerning their operating voltages, right? Like my digital camera AA's. When they die in the camera, I can usually get another 6 months out of them in the vcr/dvd/tv remotes. I'll head today and get fresh batteries and try again.
Thanks again.

Well Tom,
Replaced both batteries, remote and truck and the truck still moves about 6 feet and stops. Won't respond to turns or move either way until I take a step towards it with the controller keyed for reverse. Even as it moves forward the motor starts and stops erratically. I think maybe a capacitor that holds the charge for is failing.
What do you think?
