I understand and have put to use the different ways that shoe travel affect performance.

AS I stated in a previous post,I have been messing heavily with magnet cars.I have been messing with shoe travel on the stock Super G+ set cars I have been using to learn.I matched the shoe travel to be the same as on my Wizzard Storms, and they seem to run better. One is faster then my Storms, but the Storm beats it out a bit in handling to make up for it.

So can anyone explain to me how exactly does shoe travel affect magnet cars????Is it the same reasons as with tjets????? Doesn't seem like that would make sense??

Boy am I having a blast with these things!!!!!!

The shoe travel thing was covered in this thread:
http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=108703

With magnet cars it's also very important that shoe tension be equal for the 2 shoes and that it be setup for the ride height of the car. The front tire height and type of shoe is important. The Storm runs better (in my opinion) with the regular flat shoes than with those "elf" shoes that curl up around the shoe holder. The SG+ runs better with the limited travel ski shoes if you have lowered the front end. With either car you must get the shoe laying flat on the track along its entire length for even wear along the length of the shoe.

Thanks for the link to that thread.I'll be darned if I could find it.

Maybe Hank can set up a seperate forum for threads that are chock full o technical info.A greatest hits forum or something like that. The controller thread would be a good candidate,as would this one on the pu shoes. There are some good ones on resin casting as well.
WOuld be a good easy way to reference threads, and would keep guys like me who suffer from early senility and poor eyesight from asking the same things.
Would be great for folks new to the hobby as well.

Found this great bit of info over on fellow forum member Slot V's site:

The only thing I'd add to that link is that buying the low profile BSRT shoes for the SG+ is a lot less effort than rebending the stock ones.
