X-Traction 3 is a 6 car set with the following cars:

Delorean Time Machine (new mold)
1946 Ford (new mold)
1957 Vette (repaint)
1957 Nomad (repaint)
Javelin (repaint)
Buick GN (repaint)

Mopar Madness is a 6 car set with 2 repaints each of essentially 3 existing molds:

1970 Plymouth Cuda/Hemi Cuda
1970 Challenger/TA
1969 Charger

A little variety and a few new molds here would have been nice. 6 repaints is a little low on the 'gotta-have' scale.

But the big question is....
Are there going to be any improvements to the chassis?
Tightening up on QC would be great...

Sounds like we have Tricia's word that they haven't pulled the plug yet. As long as i still have a few more chances to buy Tjets, well, as far as I'm concerned, the glass is half full.

I've also heard that they may move to the blister packaging and possibly come out with a pit kit that includes an extra body. That would be a smart move on both counts. The current packaging, while nostagic, is very inconvenient for most retailers who are set up for pegged displays. I often see the JL boxes in stores on the bottom of the shelf away from the rest of the pegged slot cars or on the top of the shelf where you can barely reach them. I've also heard that the boxes are less of a theft deterrent. The current pit kits aren't a compelling purchase at all and putting a bonus body in the kit would make them much more attractive.

I seriously doubt we'll see any more changes to the chassis other than what comes about as the result of tightening up on the tolerances and quality control.

The bottom line is that it's not time yet to stick a fork in the JL slot car story. It ain't over.
