I would like to thank George and everyone at the track for one of the most enjoyable seasons of racing I have had in along time. anyone looking to spend more time on setup and driving ability and less time and bucks on the hightec part of the week, this is the place to roce next summer. Can`t wait for next spring, come and join us.

Do you mostly run EDM or do you also have a class with late model bodied cars? And would it be 2wd.

We are looking to create a 2 wheel drive late model class for next season. I am working on a chassis plate and arms to come up with a width of 200 to 210 mm, using astealth trans and assc. arms etc. I ll be glad to post the parts list once I figure it all out.

raymac1,

Is this LM class going to be limited to 210mm?

raymac1
10-20-2005, 08:07 PM
To tallpaul: The olnly reason for the 200 to 210 mm width would be because that is the width of most of the late model bodies. However none of the rules have been set in stone yet, as we have all winter to work things out. All sugestions are welcome. The only concideration we try real hard to adhear to, is to keep the vehicles looking as real as possible. the final rules rest with George at www.laspeedway.net.

Joe! I will stop up at Marshalls open house this weekend, as I still want to sell my 10L4 and all srare parts. I picked up my new late model kit from George last night. He puts together some sweat deals on late model E.D.M. kits and ready to run kits as well. Good luck this weekend .

Ray,

What are you using for late model?

CW GBX, Terminator?

Can you use any manufactured body?

Murdock has up to 250mm wide dirt oval wedge bodies that will work: http://members.fbx.com/rmurdock/windtunnel/Bodies
Would these be leagal?

Why the 19 turn limit for late models and the 17 turn limit for sprint cars?

How A Bought A Mini 18 Th Class Brushless !

Tallpaul: I believe the reason for most of the rules here are to keep things simple and on an even playing field for everyone. Check out Georges website at laspeedway.net for rules, photos and other info. Lets keep the cars within the established rules and try to avoid creating too many classes. Its been my experience that [depending on the no. of entries] running too many classes cuts down the no. of entries per class, this in turn takes away some of the competition, and all too often classes keep changing week to week, and then some weeks clases arnt run because af a lack of entries. There isnt too many things more agrivaiting than traveling miles to a race and not being able to run your class, or not run at all. Again lets keep things simple and have a season of fun and a lots of clean competitive races. Ray

Ray,

Do you have any idea how many people are running late model?

With gas at $3.25 a gal. I'd hate to drive 80 miles and not have any one to race with.

Mike OBrien
04-23-2006, 05:50 PM
what do you think the biggest class will be

raymac1
04-23-2006, 06:28 PM
Mike my quess is that sprint car will most likely be the largest class if the end of last season is any indicator. I hope we see a good turnout in sprint, EDM and latemodel.

Mike OBrien
04-23-2006, 07:41 PM
so thay only run that 17 turn class or is there a stock class allso

tallpaul
04-23-2006, 07:58 PM
Mike,

The only sprint car class is 17 turn limit.

Late model is 19 turn spec.

It doesn't seem to matter what motor or battery you use. Last year one of the guys won the sprint car class 4 weeks in a row with a 27t and a 2400 battery. Setup and driving ability make the difference. come and try it, you might like it.

I agree with you, maybe we need to talk to the other racers at the track today about the hobby talk site. Many may not be aware that it even excists. Possibly you could put in a few words during the race over the PA system. Lets see what we can do. See you this afternoon. Ray

Porksalot4L
05-06-2006, 11:59 PM
yeah Ray you made a good point and i think tonight was a great first night of racing. all in all for the first night i couldnt complain. everyone seemed to get better at driving over the winter which i think is kinda amazing considering not many of them raced! my personal favorite part of the night was seeing the whole gang again. should be a fun season. next week ill try to remind people of the hobbytalk again and the website. so should be fun. see you all around soon!

Sure was agreat first night, looked like everone had a godd time, except for Andy, he didn t have any luck at all. What was going on? Glitches??? His car was fast when it ran. Hope they get it worked out by next weekend.

Porksalot4L
05-08-2006, 12:11 AM
yeah glitches were very bad for him. he seems to never catch the right breaks. maybe next week he will use his own radio though and that will fix things up

Porksalot4L
05-08-2006, 11:23 AM
hey i just wanna say that this year we will be keeping records for every class. they will be posted on the www.laspeedway.net (http://www.laspeedway.net/) website for everyone to see. but if there becomes a problem with us keeping the records as far as some drivers being over aggressive to beat the record then we will have to rethink the record keeping. i think its a fun way to judge how fast an individual racer is compared to the other drivers. so i hope we dont have a problem with them! :)

Congradulations to all Record holders as of 5/6/06

05-09-2006, 10:47 PM

Porksalot4L

joe why if new clay was put down are guys running spikes and not foams

Porksalot4L
05-13-2006, 10:13 PM
spike tires arent allowed at the track. nothing more aggressive then Pin Spikes. bring foams if you want to but pin spikes work better so far. you gonna come race with us? :)
