i have a 12.5 hp B&S vert.shaft that i just had rebuilt. however, due to the old crank bearings having slop in them, the bottom crank carrier is scarred up, and wont hold a crank seal. i need a oilpan for this engine if anyone has one.

I've got them all over the shop yard and their destiny is to be sold for aluminum. I would send you one if you would pay the shipping. If you will send me your zip code private message or post it here I will get shipping charges for you. I ship most every day so I could get it right out.

Hope this helps........Mike

Mike, thanks for the reply. my zip is 74421. i had a brainstorm and thought that a 10 hp pan would fit, but no luck. then tried an 11 hp, but no luck. i was told that it has to be a 12hp or larger to work. i guess this must be like small block and big block car motors. how would you send? UPS, FEDEX? and would this be COD, or do you want a money order upfront to ship? just let me know. this sounds like a good offer, thanks

if you have the oilpan just lying around, what are the chances of you having any tecumseh engines? i need a flywheel off an 8hp. dont know the exact numbers, but this is the old style points setup, with the contact magnets all the way around inner side. i had one, and i guess i set my coil timing too close to the magnets. motor turned good by hand, but when i started it, it ate the magnets, and spit em out.

I use UPS or USPS for shipping. Most of the time USPS is cheaper and they have a somewhat better record getting things there in one piece. Your best bet is to send a money order of any sort to avoid at least $ 6-7 in COD fees.

No doubt I would have a flywheel for the Tecumseh. There is little demand for these older under the flywheel coil types so I could give you one. I have a very late model 12.5 that can give a up a very nice clean base.

Just guessing the weight as I sit here at 18 lbs. the parcel post USPS (4 days) shipping would be about 12.00. What I would need to do is round up your parts, pack them and get a weight. From there I can send you my address and exact shipping charges.

If you would like to check to see if I'm on the level have a look at my Ebay feedback here http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=mikemerritt2002

I have shipped a part or two....

Mike,
Thanks so much for your help. Just to maybe save some trouble, the flywheel is an 8hp, and the contact magnets go all the way around. The base sounds like just what i need. Just to let you know, i do not fix to sell to make money. what i build, i keep. i do it as a hobby. the flywheel is on a mini dragster for my kids i made out of an old sears. it had a 5hp recoil with f and r tranny. it now has the 8hp electric start tec, with a bigger rearend and tires and a 4 speed inline shift chain drive. geared like it sets, will run about 35mph. the base is on an old LTV-10 sears that my dad bought new in 79. i have it completely redone except the engine pan. these are two of the 6 that i use and i built. am currently working on a 1973 Atlas tiller. Weigh these things and get me the shipping, and the money order will be on its way. If you dont want to post that info here, my e-mail is mr_maledune2@msn.com. Again thanks so much for your help
