I was wondering this.. on 12th scale pan cars everyone runs reactive caster blocks..and on oval cars we generally do not... I have however seen many mod racers rn reactive blocks, or even stock blocks on both sides...
so my question is... what does it's purpose serve ... why dont we run it on all the cars... thanks

I used to run it one my 1/10 pan car, seemed to give more steering in the center of the turn, I havn't tried recently. I might now though thanks for the idea.

this is what i think
on reactive caster the caster blocks are set up for 4% or 6% caster a higher % of caster will make the car turn in harder going into turns but push more coming out of turns os in thery with reactive caster the caster is reduced as the spring on that side of the car compresses changing from 4% to 2% witch will give you less push as you exet the turn
the only probum is any caster at all will add alot of front end scrub to the car slowing you down very bad for oval so most guys running oval just run 2% non active caster on right side and none on left side but with 1/12 road corse you want all the turn you can get so the guys run 4% or even 6% active caster
I tried the Wolfe long kingpin setup this past Sat.,and when used as the directions show it will turn out from under you in the center of the corner.I think with some fine tuning time,i'll get the desired action that i want,just by changing the shimming around.This is on a really tight turned asphalt oval with caps.

How does adding caster add front end scrub? I've tried to picture how this would happen in my mind, but for the life of me, I can't understand how adding caster would create scrub... If there is some way that this causes scrub, how would it be any differnt hten adding camber?

adding caster you dewedge the chassis (loose crossweight) as the steering is turned. The more caster the more dewedging action. On top of the dewedging camber increases which may be interpreted as scrub if the camber is not reduced as the caster is increased.
