It's been years since I raced on a temporary carpet track, aka one that is unrolled and setup for race day. What is the best way to roll, unroll the carpet. Also, what do you recommend for perimeter retaining walls? Thanks for any responses!

Todd: Check out www.stocktonrcraceway.com (http://www.stocktonrcraceway.com). Ruben does the best job at a temporary carpet track, e-mail him for more info.

I run on a rollout track weekly. We use the crc carpet and have 4" pvc pipe that we roll the carpet on. For walls we use 2x4 on edge with plates screwed to the back side
For inside walls we took plywood and cut half circles out of them and blocked them up in between each peice and ran a peice of plastic around the outside and then pinned 2x4's down the center of the track. If I can find a pic I will send it to you.
Hope this helps,

You can check out pics of our track at www.iroaronline.org we run 2"PVC for everythign on it and it is temporary. Alot of oval guys on here have raced at our two day and will probably agree that it is pretty much problem free and pretty easy to assemble. We roll it on regular cardboard carpet tubes and we secure the outer perimeter down with velcro on ozite. It has more give than 2x4's will which means less damage to the car if you get into it. Take care.
