I'd like to build a oval dirt track. I have just under a half acre that's not doing anything but sitting there. It's pretty much flat and I could see an ovel track there. How would I go about starting? Do I build forms as if I were to pour cement? What type of soil do I use that wouldn't let weeds pass threw to the top, and would pack good without getting washed away during a good rain? I have lots of questions about this. Can anyone help with some tips? I'm thinking about haveing at least 50ft straights but with what radius curves? Flat or banked? If banked then would the base be formed out of plywood? I have no problem with building a radio stand for whom ever comes over to race, it's the track I could use for suggestions! My neighbor is willing to help with his tractor and grader to get it started that would be a plus. I would value your opinions. Thanks everyone!
