I think I wanna stick to a b&s motor. what I found was a 6.5 hp Troy bilt at Lowes is this gonna be a decent mower? :dude: bugman 04-07-2005, 04:15 PM hmm, troy bilt, i see no problem with em, the troy bilt trimmer i just bought is fantastic, your sticking also with a good reliable powerful engine as well. (briggs) most likely its a quantum with the new z start right? yeah it'll be a nice reliable mower. though what i like to look for is not just a basic deck but rather one that has the metal strip (forget the name) you'll see if you feel under the deck of the show model. a strip that seperates the corners from the grass and makes it better for mowing. if its for a good deal and isn't cheap looking, IE no ripples in the deck, it would make you a good mower for a long time. though mtd and troy bilt are together now. actually i still see better quality in troy bilt over mtd/bolens mowers lowes sells. oh and sticking to b&s will pay off, all i own is b&s mowers and i've put em through hell and back but they run like the day i bought em or got em. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
