View Full Version : Need help with Keyence ESC!!!
kaleidoscopem 04-06-2005, 10:18 PM Hey, I have a ESC question.....I have a Keyence Zero Extreme V ESC. I just bought it from someone used, and I cant get it to work doing the set up. I found an only diagram of what to do, but I cant get it to work. I know you push the center button to make it say setup, then you are supposed to push and hold for 4 sec to get to the throttle set, but it just goes back to the main screen where it says n 0P....if you know what i can do, or whatever, plllllllllllllllllllllease let me know....im startin to get really frustrated....spent about 3 hours pressin this lil button, and i still cant get it to work....hit me up please!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much.
irvan36mm 04-07-2005, 07:53 AM I own a Zero V Extreme,too! You should be doing this:
Center out all throttle & brake trims on the radio. Turn speedo on & let it say "HELLO". It should then say "n OP".
Hold center button down until it says "SET"
Now,you should see "NUTR". This is your trigger neutral point. Leave trigger alone, wait 2-4 seconds-then push the RIGHT SIDE button
You should now see something that says "drHP". This will be the throttle point. Pull & hold trigger, wait 2-4 seconds-then push the RIGHT SIDE button
You should now see "brHP". This will be the brake point. Push & hold the trigger forward like you're hitting full brakes, wait 2-4 seconds-then push the RIGHT SIDE button TWICE until you see "n OP"
Turn off speedo & turn back on. It should now be setup!
When you wait the 2-4 seconds in-between functions, notice the green lights. They are counting up to the full 4 seconds! The trick is to push the Right side button BEFORE the lights get to the end. Otherwise, the speedo will go back to "n OP".
Hope this helps! LMK what you come up with!

kaleidoscopem 04-07-2005, 11:24 AM yes, when i get it to set, the only way i can get it to go to nutr is by hitting the right button, but everything ive seen says to hold the center button 4 sec, and it will go to nutr. when i do it it goes back to the n_0P. But, if i go to the right arrow to get to the nutr, when i hit the right side again it goes to d_Po then b_Po then nubr and then E_br then EnSA and back to set. Ive been told since its been ran before by the guy i know that ran it that i shouldnt have to mess with those settings, just the main drive, nutrel, and brake. But, I cant get it to let me do it, and the guy that i bought it from has been trying to coach me over the phone, but he cant figure out why its doing this too. Any extra tid bits would be great....Thanks!
irvan36mm 04-07-2005, 02:00 PM I think they meant "Hold the trigger for 4 sec"?You should only hold the center button just to get from "n OP" to "SET". Everything else is the "Right" button to scroll to the next adjustment. If it still doesn't work, then it sounds like it's going to the Service Dept! lol Here's some service info I found on another thread:
Call Adrian Martinez at Schumacher down in Florida for service.
I think their policy is less than 90 days old = Free replacement
Anything older than 90 days, send in old unit and $50 and they give you a new one.
1-813-889-9691
Not too shabby of a deal for $50.00,IMO! lol

kaleidoscopem 04-07-2005, 06:48 PM Hey, thanks for all th help...I think we figured out that my problem was that the reciever was bad. after replacing it, Now I can get to the correct settings, but I still am having a problem setting it up....but now i believe i can accredite that to the user (i.e. me) being an electronic bone head, and i just cant do it. but, at least i know that the reciever was the problem not my speed control. i actually called Schumacher, and they helped me to figure that out. Thanks....I just dont think it is saving my settings or sumthing when i do it...i dont know.
kaleidoscopem 04-07-2005, 11:06 PM Hey, after splicing many wires, and sautering the wires to my hands, I believe that I finally got this thing programed correctly. If it is programed correctley, when you pull the trigger should it read like 100 or maybe it was d100....I know it read 100 on it though. If this is the case, I finally got it to work right. If you know what I am talking about, let me know if it is right or not please. If it is right, Thank you so much for all of your help in getting this thing to work. If its not right, then I suppose its back to the drawing board.
irvan36mm 04-08-2005, 09:35 AM You're right! If you give it full trigger,it should read "d100". Good work!
