If you can cut the com every three runs and put new brushes in and break it in. i hope this helps. Brandon Snyder mcRacing 04-06-2005, 08:12 PM ask BIll aka Ozzi he will tell u every thing u need to know bsracing8 04-06-2005, 08:41 PM I pretty much learnd every thing about motors i know form watching him. and what you do is cut the com clean out in between the slot wit an exacto knife take a ball point pen and go across the slots put one shim or two shims on the arm where the pinion goes put it in the can put the red piece back on the to the arm and apply as many shims it take to take up the play you want very little but dont go to tight but brushes in break in for three hunderd seconds an clean out wit motor spray put rip com drops on the com and rip bushing oil at each end of the motor. Run the rip 602 in stock work great. i will answer any question you may have that i can answer. Very in depth and a lot of pics. http://www.motortuningsecrets.com/tunestockmotor.html One thing to note about the Fantom dyno is everybody's reads different. I have seen a 62 watt motor on one guys read 68 watts on another, so there are really no set benchmarks. JeffPatch29 04-07-2005, 10:13 AM on a faontom the worst mistake you can do is look at the max power. Take a look at the power numbers between 20-30 amps. typically what I have seen is the higher the 20 amp number, the better the motor, and the closer your 30 amp number is to your max power, the better the motor. Also, wind up is a big issue with the fantoms, lower the better obviously. Every dyno is different, so you're going to have to do some tests on your own, but on my dyno anything over 53 watts at 20 amps is steller. max power is typically 63-65, but like I said every dyno is different. Hope this helps. Jeff Patch Rip Motorsports TQ Cells Putnam Propulsion vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
